Why did you set up business on the Peninsula?

Having worked in different environments on the Yorke Peninsula for 7 years when the opportunity arose to buy our own business we thought that it that this was a great time to  branch out and be self employed.

What do you like about running a business on the Peninsula? 

Travelling all over the peninsula and meeting the wonderful people who live here. Each day brings a new adventure.

What is the main thing that you struggle with in business on the Peninsula? How have you or do you overcome this? 

Making people aware that we are not worried about travelling all over the peninsula as people are not wanting to pay high travel costs. We advertise that we don’t charge a travelling fee, and try to book clients in the same area.

We are the only credit union on the Yorke Peninsula and pride ourselves on customer service.  We have some of the best home loan and personal loan rates and a personal banker who offers a virtual branch in a car offering most services except cash transactions all over the peninsula

Why did you set up business on the Peninsula?

19 years ago the directors saw the need for a credit union in Yorketown, offering excellent customer service and competitive interest rates.

What do you like about running a business on the Peninsula? 

Developing close relationships with customers and working with them to achieve their goals and dreams.

 

What is the main thing that you struggle with in business on the Peninsula? How have you or do you overcome this? 

Raising awareness of the Yorketwon branch on the wider Peninsula. We overcome this by getting out and about with the branded car.

Here are some things to consider to ensure that you are making the most of the little time that you have to market:

  • ensure a fabulous design with drag and drop capability in your email tool,
  • divide your customer lists so that you can target your database accordingly
  • track your emails
  • automate as much as possible
  • Ensure that the email is engaging.

If you don’t already have an account, or even if you do and you are looking for some tips on how to improve your use, or you don’t know what MailChimp is- come along to our MailChimp training session on Tuesday 4th of October at 7:30 pm.

In this training you will learn how to:

  • Schedule and send professional mail blasts;
  • Review and track these emails
  • See when customers review your emails.

We will build a basic business profile, mailing list and email template and then send an email.

We will then learn to schedule, insert links to your website and include links to your social media profiles.

This is a basic introduction to MailChimp and email newsletters.
